Don't Feed the Plants
The weather this month has been fairly temperate: temperatures have been pleasantly warm but not overbearing, while there has been rain there has been nothing approaching torrential, no threats of flooding, even in low-lying areas.
Some may remember the previous month, though, when allergies were horrible, confessions sprung to the lips of anyone keep on talking, and only truths to the lips of others. Some may have thought they'd blown over, like so many other occurrences in this strange and fragmented reality.
- Starting Monday, those whose allergies were effected last month may start noticing the sneezes coming back, and the urges to tell the truth or unburden their hearts return with them.
- Around the middle of the week, residents may start to notice the humidity is beginning to rise along with the return of the allergies and weird tendencies, windows fogging in the middle of the day and the tendency to sweat rising as soon as they walk outside.
- By the end of the week, people will start to notice mildew growing around the bases of buildings, on doors, on streetlamps, walls, and any other surface exposed to the humid air.
- By the following Monday, residents will begin to notice this mildew and mold spreading inside buildings, in homes, in businesses.
- By the middle of that week, this spots of mildew have graduated to mold and in some places have even taken to sprouting creeping vines.
- By the end of that week, the natives of Aterat start to exhibit traits of paranoia, they begin to mistreat or distrust the new arrivals, question their intentions, and constantly watch their backs when you're around.
- It serves to reason that unease would be contagious, and by the beginning of that following week, you begin to feel the same, that maybe the natives of Aterat are up to something they aren't sharing. It's easy to shake off the feelings of doubt and disquiet at first, but there is no denying they exist.
- By the middle of the week, thoughts begin to occur to you, intrusive but believable. For example, you may have the stray thought that your neighbor hasn't returned that book he borrowed because he intends to use it against you.
- It may be difficult to think through the growing paranoia and solve this invasive species issue, but it will need to be dealt with for the city to go back to some semblance of normal.

At the moment, investigation will be required to determine the source of the issue, but if it stretches on too long, I'll get NPCs involved.

I never mean to imply anyone is obligated to have characters effected or not. How much the plants spread into their personal spaces and have an affect on them is up to each player.
