Here is our forth Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!

A. Crash into Me

Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.

B. A Winter's Ball

What brand new ballroom would be complete without a fancy new winter's ball to break it in? Things are a little strange at the ballroom (check the prompts) with mistletoe that traps you for a kiss with a random passerby, strange gray meringue that makes you willing to overshare, not to mention the fact that one of your strange possible overlords funded the whole thing. What's the worst that could happen?

C. We're all hanging out at the park, right?

The park near the Complex has become a glittering expanse of show! Children and adults alike build snowmen and even sled down some of the higher hills in the area. There are stands around the park selling hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and cider, as well as sweets and wrapped snacks for the day in the park. Speckling the park at regular intervals are standing fire pits designed to ward away the cold and allow for gatherings and conversation.

The pond in the park has frozen over as well, affording the abilities to ice skate as the ever-industrious Raimon is renting skates, and maybe even challenge people to a hockey game. How hard could it be to find some makeshift pucks and other accoutrements in order to play a game?

There's a Coliseum here where people fight regularly. They also hold chocobo races here, but I guess that would depend on your definition of fun.

[ooooh, fighting? Fun shit there.]

What the fuck is a chocobo?

It's a bird and it reminds me of an ostrich.

[And then he makes a slightly disgusted face, trying to phrase his answers politely because why does this guy swear so much?]

But it's pretty quiet here unless you're into fighting monsters when they show up.

So it's slow is what you're saying.

[Fighting monsters? Well now Tommy's interested.]

I'm a hero, fighting monsters is totally my game.

No, but it sounds like it will be for you.

[If what he's hearing is correct anyhow. But then there was the hero thing and he sighed quietly.]

So you're looking to sign up for the Coliseum then? In that case too, if monsters appear here again I take it you'll be on the sign up list there too?

[doubled_speed]

I mean, I might. Do they pay if you win? I need a ton of money on the regular.

[areasontohope]

I really don't know if they do or don't pay, but we can find out.

[And that had him pause. He was inviting himself along which was pretty rude. But then his mind figured that he could at least apologize about that if needed because he could easily cover it up by thinking the man would need someone to show him where the Coliseum was.]

You gonna show me where the place is? Fine, where are you?

I'm over by the detective agency, but I don't know that you'd know where that is. So if you're by the fountain where people normally show up, I can meet you there.

Okay, instead of that, tell me what you look like.

[areasontohope]

[Why did that question make him feel self conscious about how he looked? He hadn't felt that way since Jacob was around and so he cleared his throat a little.]

I have grey hair and eyes. My name is Yuki and I'll be there to meet you at the fountain in about five minutes.

[doubled_speed]

Yeah, we could do that or...

[There's a rush of air and a white haired man next to Yuki, just like that.]

You Yuki?

[areasontohope]

[Or..? But then he has about two seconds to blink before he's standing next to a man with white hair. The surprised face is evident and he stands there looking at the person who asked him if he was Yuki.

It was the same voice.]

How..how did you get here so fast?

[doubled_speed]

[Tommy just grins.]

I'm magic.

[Which is absolutely not true. Except sort is.]

[areasontohope]

[He's not sure how to answer that, so Yuki just tries to smile.]

Well you're fast at least.

[doubled_speed]

[Tommy laughs. That's an understatement.]

Yeah, I'm definitely that. You were going to show me something?

[areasontohope]

"I.." And then he shut his mouth and nodded. "Yes, I was going to show you the Coliseum."

[doubled_speed]

"Alright then, show me the way," Tommy suggested with a smile. "I really need to see if they're offering purses."

Because feeding himself and the moving form in the messenger bag at his side would be expensive.

[areasontohope]

"I can't get there as fast as you can." Yuki admitted. Even if he ran he couldn't do it. "But if you want, I can point you in the right direction." It wasn't what he wanted to do but he was trying to be polite here and not slow the other down.

[doubled_speed]

"I doubt anyone could," Tommy answered with a shrug. "But I can't handle using the energy for that right now."

But standing still for five minutes would have been too much."

[areasontohope]

So many questions raced through his mind as he heard Tommy's explanation but he just nodded. "Okay. It's not too far from here, in the North West section." He really wasn't sure what to say and it wasn't like him to not be able to smooth things over. He'd been really good at it at school, being polite and kind. But for some reason he felt all jumbled up inside.

Well then, Tommy shoved his hands into his pocket and started to walk, even as his bag made a loud squeak.

"So, how long you been here?"

[areasontohope]

Yuki's eyes turned in alarm at the squeak but wasn't sure he should say anything yet. So he gave Tommy an odd look before replying. "I've been here awhile actually."

[doubled_speed]

Don't react to the noise, kid. It's fine. Everything is fine.

"A while? That's a very specific number."

[areasontohope]

He had to think and that took a moment or two. Still, it was kind of nice to be picked on even if just a little so he smiled. "I've been here since September of last year."
