A. Crash into Me

Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.

B. A Winter's Ball

What brand new ballroom would be complete without a fancy new winter's ball to break it in? Things are a little strange at the ballroom (check the prompts) with mistletoe that traps you for a kiss with a random passerby, strange gray meringue that makes you willing to overshare, not to mention the fact that one of your strange possible overlords funded the whole thing. What's the worst that could happen?

C. We're all hanging out at the park, right?

The park near the Complex has become a glittering expanse of show! Children and adults alike build snowmen and even sled down some of the higher hills in the area. There are stands around the park selling hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and cider, as well as sweets and wrapped snacks for the day in the park. Speckling the park at regular intervals are standing fire pits designed to ward away the cold and allow for gatherings and conversation.

The pond in the park has frozen over as well, affording the abilities to ice skate as the ever-industrious Raimon is renting skates, and maybe even challenge people to a hockey game. How hard could it be to find some makeshift pucks and other accoutrements in order to play a game?

[He's not sure how to answer that, so Yuki just tries to smile.]

Well you're fast at least.

[Tommy laughs. That's an understatement.]

Yeah, I'm definitely that. You were going to show me something?

"I.." And then he shut his mouth and nodded. "Yes, I was going to show you the Coliseum."

[doubled_speed]

"Alright then, show me the way," Tommy suggested with a smile. "I really need to see if they're offering purses."

Because feeding himself and the moving form in the messenger bag at his side would be expensive.

"I can't get there as fast as you can." Yuki admitted. Even if he ran he couldn't do it. "But if you want, I can point you in the right direction." It wasn't what he wanted to do but he was trying to be polite here and not slow the other down.

"I doubt anyone could," Tommy answered with a shrug. "But I can't handle using the energy for that right now."

But standing still for five minutes would have been too much."

So many questions raced through his mind as he heard Tommy's explanation but he just nodded. "Okay. It's not too far from here, in the North West section." He really wasn't sure what to say and it wasn't like him to not be able to smooth things over. He'd been really good at it at school, being polite and kind. But for some reason he felt all jumbled up inside.

Well then, Tommy shoved his hands into his pocket and started to walk, even as his bag made a loud squeak.

"So, how long you been here?"

Yuki's eyes turned in alarm at the squeak but wasn't sure he should say anything yet. So he gave Tommy an odd look before replying. "I've been here awhile actually."

Don't react to the noise, kid. It's fine. Everything is fine.

"A while? That's a very specific number."

[areasontohope]

He had to think and that took a moment or two. Still, it was kind of nice to be picked on even if just a little so he smiled. "I've been here since September of last year."

Shit, that's not so bad. Okay, it is, but still.

"That's shitty. At least you're getting by. DOn't seem to be all flesh and bones. That'll be me, in a month. Not enough food for me."

[areasontohope]

"There's food here." Yuki replied with a small amused smile. "There's a tavern in town and there's also a hunters lodge towards the forest." This person if he made his living being a gladiator or fighter or whatever would have plenty to eat in no time.

"There's markets in town too, some make fresh food that's pretty much already cooked."

Tavern and hunters lodge, huh? Maybe one of those would work for him.

"Looks like I'll have choices then. I'll just have to get them from a lot of places"

"Them?" Yuki asked, wondering who or what the man was talking about. "Are you talking about different foods?"

[doubled_speed]

"Yeah, I am," Tommy admitted. "Sorry, food's a concern for me."

A major one. The most major.

[areasontohope]

"A concern?" Yuki asked. And then he shook his head. "I'm sorry, maybe that's too personal a question and I'm being rude."

And he really didn't want to be rude here.

[doubled_speed]

"I need, at minimum, three times the normal food intake as a normal human just to avoid starving," Tommy answered with a shrug.

[areasontohope]

That had Yuki cock his head to the side as they continued walking. "Is that..because of what you can do?" That had to explain it really though he had no real idea how the other had moved so fast.

[doubled_speed]

"Bingo. IMagine running as fast as you can for a really long time. You get hungry, right? Well, I'm like that."

Except even more.

"I..I see." Yuki replied, trying his best to imagine how much fuel that took to accomplish as he kept walking along.

"Last I knew they sold different foods near the Coliseum too. I just don't know if that would help or not." Most of it was considered 'street food' by the locals, but Yuki enjoyed it.

Don't imagine, man. It'll break the brain.

"Cool. Plenty of businesses to buy from then."

[areasontohope]

He smiled because if the man had to eat, then at least he was somewhere there was plenty of food and he wouldn't have to go far. But he did want to see if this one could be termed a superhero, much like he'd accused Kyo of not being.

But soon they approached the Coliseum and there were announcements of what it was everywhere. The vendors were out hawking their wares of course and the salty pretzels were definitely a favourite.

"Guess I don't need to tell you that we're here."

Damn, this place was big. Tommy was grinning. This could be fun.

"I don't think you do. Guess this could be a way for me to make some money, provided they allow powers."

Granted he doesn't think blowing up monsters counts as a valid win.

"I really don't know." Yuki replied. He had no idea what the other could do other than to move really fast. But if he found out he was competing, he might be tempted to purchase a ticket and go see. He could just see it too, all the girls swooning over him and people throwing flowers down or confetti as he'd heard people did when their favourite champion won.

But then he pointed. "They have the registration over there. Do you want to go over and sign up or explore more?"
