TEST DRIVE 002
Here is our second Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!
NOTE: While you do need an invite to apply to the game, you do NOT need one to tag or top level on the Test Drive!
Arrival & General Information | Locations & Bestiary | Residences & Housing Info | Rules & FAQ (ask questions here!)
A. Free-Fallin'
Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.
B. For the Benefit of Mr. Kite there will be a show tonight on trampolines
Just to the north of the market district, a small carnival has been set up in a square. As the sun sets, the stalls around it come alive with callers, carnival games, roasted meats are available as well as sweet treats. The games have prizes, stuffed animals and the like, and there are musicians. It's almost as though it's all in celebration of something, but what is anyone's guess. You're welcome to attend and see what's what, and any performers among the gathered are welcome to take part. The whole affair is very mirthful and fluid.
C. Delve Down into the Dark and Deep
If you're a more adventurous type, why not see what all the fuss is about in the sewers, or, if heroics are more your style, maybe look into why people seem to think it's fine to have monsters living just under their feet. Or just use the opportunity to keep your skills sharp. The sewers are pretty vast, after all.
D. Tell Phone™
Why not give that phone a shot and see who answers?
If you have any questions at all about setting or what is or isn't acceptable, please submit it on the FAQ!
If you would like to explore any aspect of the setting more indepth, please PM the mod account OR comment here! All comments are screened!

Games!
Fuck skittles, she didn't care about them - it was more the giant!! Freaking!! Warrior lady!! Who also happened to be blue.
FUCKING BLUE, MAN. How rad was that?
So, she watched as she inspected the ball, mostly just starry-eyed at the woman's general existence, before she went and freakin' decimated the skittles. And the wall. So fuckin' cool. Now all she had to do was figure out what to say, how to introduce herself - because clearly they needed to know each other. Then she heard her questioning the stuffed animal, and opportunity revealed itself!
"It's a prize!" She replied, ducking past a couple of people to get closer, hands linked behind her back. "You get one if y'get a strike - and you fuckin' broke the thing, so! By that estimation, you should really get the whole lot. Dunno how you'd carry 'em, but it's the principle of the matter, you know?"

"A prize for damage of property?"
Oh dear, that is distressing to hear. Of course the girl continues and Laurie thinks she gets it after that. Ah. A prize for prowess. Yes, that makes far more sense.
"I do not believe I deserve more than one. But I shall be grateful for what I have gained," she decides before turning to the vendor and reaching out to shake his hand. The man looks... vaguely leery of the prospect. Hands like hers clearly dwarf his, but she is careful, and when she is done she moves away from the stall.
And of course people part from before her like a wave.
"Thank you for your explanation, young lady. May I ask your name?"
no subject
"Holly Genovese! And you're very welcome, I used t'come to fairs and stuff a lot when I was a little kid, so this is all old hat to me. What should I call you?"
no subject
"I am Lauri-Ell, it is my honor to meet you. Could you explain that term? Fair? You make it sound like an object or a place, rather than a description of rules or standards."
Yes, she's very confused.
no subject
That stumps her for a moment; if she'd ever been told the answer, she's long since forgotten it. "...well, not really. I mean someone probably could, but I don't really know why it's called that. Sometimes words mean two different things for no reason other than t'confuse the shit outta people, which I guess it's doin' pretty well now. All I know is, they're real fun and you can go on rides and eat sugary stuff til your teeth melt out your head. It's great!"
no subject
"What sorts of rides? Why would I want my teeth to melt out? Are there flowers? Are there contests of strength? Why are these things held?"
Yep, she's got SO MANY questions about human culture.
no subject
Steering her around with a hand on her arm (and decidedly more strength than a regular child), Holly gestures to the various rides, all lit up and narrated with different levels of distant screaming.
"Those sorts! Some make you puke but they're real fun, and then there's slower ones which are still okay, but I'm a fan of the big ones."
The fact that she's never been tall enough to ride one is beside the point.
"Aaand over there is a game which you've gotta be strong for, so you should break that one tonight for sure. As for why they're held, I guess people are just constantly seized by the need to have a good time. And they like lights and food and stuff, so shoving all of it together is always a recipe for a good evening."
no subject
"I could no doubt feel better thing rides with a fighter ship."
Space, it's fun.
Wait, a tame she should break? "Why should I break a game? That seems impolite. If the stall owners are attempting to provide entertainment it would be bad for me to break things."
