TEST DRIVE 002

Welcome to Aterat!

Here is our second Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!

NOTE: While you do need an invite to apply to the game, you do NOT need one to tag or top level on the Test Drive!

Helpful Links to Get Started

Arrival & General Information | Locations & Bestiary | Residences & Housing Info | Rules & FAQ (ask questions here!)

A. Free-Fallin'

Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.

B. For the Benefit of Mr. Kite there will be a show tonight on trampolines

Just to the north of the market district, a small carnival has been set up in a square. As the sun sets, the stalls around it come alive with callers, carnival games, roasted meats are available as well as sweet treats. The games have prizes, stuffed animals and the like, and there are musicians. It's almost as though it's all in celebration of something, but what is anyone's guess. You're welcome to attend and see what's what, and any performers among the gathered are welcome to take part. The whole affair is very mirthful and fluid.

C. Delve Down into the Dark and Deep

If you're a more adventurous type, why not see what all the fuss is about in the sewers, or, if heroics are more your style, maybe look into why people seem to think it's fine to have monsters living just under their feet. Or just use the opportunity to keep your skills sharp. The sewers are pretty vast, after all.

D. Tell Phone™

Why not give that phone a shot and see who answers?

If you have any questions at all about setting or what is or isn't acceptable, please submit it on the FAQ!

Oh, finally! Someone who wants to hear about Kree culture and tradition. She bets she can even tell him about the Emperor and his kindness. Yes, this is something she can do. Lauri-Ell sits next to the stranger with a smile.

"Kree is what I am. Like you seem to be human. Though there are others species who seem similar to you. Clearly you are not Shi'ar, and if you were Asgardian I would recognize the All-Speak. Yes, you seem most likely to be a Human of Earth."

He listens intently, but also gets lost in her explanation. He has no idea what these others are either, but still wants to know more, even if he'll get more lost. He nods along, taking a sip from his drink occasionally.

"Human, yes. I do not know what these others are either, my apologies miss. It sounds as though there are many more than I never knew of! Would you mind telling me of these Shi'ar and Asgardian people?"

His pronunciation isn't perfect, but it should be close enough to understand.

But she has barely even touched upon the Kree!

"The Shi'ar are a bird-descended people that are war-like. Or were until their current Empress. They believe they are the supreme life and make much in the way of conflict, but attempt at honor. Asgardians are high and mighty and see themselves as gods. Perhaps they are. They are tied very much to earth, even if they do not reside there. Most are seen as gods of, or exemplars of, certain things. Like God of Thunder, God of Magic, God of Wisdom. They are pompous. Neither are as good as the Kree. Or, I suppose, even Skrull."

Wait, no, she's throwing more words out there, isn't she? Damn.

"Skrull are a race of green-skinned shapeshifters. They can look like anything within certain limits."

Maybe he shouldn't have let that curiosity get to him and get over his head, because he's ten times more lost with a thousand more questions wanting to burst forth. He blinks, entirely lost now and lets out an audible sigh and puts up a free hand.

"How about you start at the beginning again. Tell me about your people. I can see I have a lot to learn here, so tell me more about my first question of your... Kree? What are they like?"

Ah, yes, beginnings are good. She can agree to this decision.

"We are a race of noble soldiers, warriors, and thinkers. Our home planet was Hala, and for many years we were at war with the Skrull. We are very durable and all Skrull are part of the military at some point. Our people controlled a good portion of space for a long time, though our territory has dwindled greatly due to war, the Skrull, the Annihilation wave, and the death of many of our people in a civil war, but we were known for great technology."

Stolen at first from the Skrull of course.
