↫ State of the Game ↬
The humidity of the last few months is beginning to subside, leaving residents with warm days in the sun and nights inching towards cooler once the sun sinks below the horizon.
And what a clear horizon it is! The mists that had been encroaching so menacingly the past few months seems to have dissipated, almost overnight, and the sense of foreboding that came with it has eased as well.
Administration-wise, activity check has been processed and those who did not respond have been removed from the game. If this was performed in error, please contact the mod account and I can clear it up for you!
» New TDM
Going forward, TDMs will be posted quarterly (seasonally, if you will), and the newest can be found here! The prompts are open for existing players to use for posts throughout the duration of the TDM. In this case, the prompts are good for the months of September, October, and November.
Feel free to use any of those prompts in addition to shenanigans related to this month's event or in lieu of the same, and be sure to invite your friends to come and play!
I always encourage people to use the Content Submission and Plot Requests pages, either to suggest events or to request information for characters to explore respectively. Enjoy the setting and engage with it! Aterat grows with your interaction!
Speaking of this month's event:
Event: What Shall Be Sewn
(The Reaping, Part 1)
Couriers, both player run and local, are always running here and there throughout the city, running packages and letters for citizenry both for business and for pleasure. It's a hectic business to be sure, but there seem to be even more packages moving through the city recently.
In fact, there is a package being delivered to everyone. It's a small box, about 5 inches square, and wrapped in various ways. Some are simple packages bound in tan paper and twine while others are ornately wrapped with shimmering bows. Regardless of what type of package is received, the contents are the same:
» A small amber stone the size of a thumbnail; it glows with an inner light
» Fertile soil in the box itself
But what will you do with the stone? Will you see someone's opinion on the stone? Use the box as it's suggested and give it a plant? It may be worth your while...
...and it is. Those who decide to plant and nurture their strange, seed-like stone will have it sprout. The resulting plant with grow quickly, with a golden stalk and curling leaves, and then will bear a fruit near the end of the month. The fruit itself shimmers, though the skin is rough and not unlike an avocado.
In fact, the flesh inside is rather avocado-like as well, but the stone at the center of the fruit? It cracks open revealing a small trinket from home. It could be a necklace, a ring, a folded photo, anything that would fit into the core of a stone fruit, but what does it mean? Nothing....for the moment.
Anyone who does receive something in this way will be desperately, obsessively protective of it, but otherwise, nothing untoward seems to happen for the having of it.
At least not yet.
If you decide not to plant your stone, please respond to the thread below and I'll let you know what, if anything, your character may learn about it, or what else might occur.
Please use this post to plot for the month, whether it's for this event, general plotting, or any prompts from the TDM, and remember, have fun!
