Test Drive Meme: Autumn。 |
WELCOME TO ATERAT All prompts are optional but can also be used as game canon if you and the other agrees. In addition, current players are welcome to use any of the prompts provided here for interactions within the game setting. The prompts below act as little mini events for current or new players to interact with for the duration of the Test Drive (a new Test Drive will go up in December). You’re not required to use any of the prompts provided here, of course, and are more than welcome to go your own way (we even encourage it)! The setting itself centers around character exploration and is designed to allow you to do whatever you’d like with it. As such, you can refer to the links below for more ideas! I. Reflections of You。 |
New arrivals come to themselves after their strange orientation to find themselves alone (or at least they believe themselves to be alone) standing near the fountain at the center of the provided residential buildings. Current characters may be walking by, but either way, something about the waters prompts you to peer into them. Maybe you're joining someone else whose gazing into the fountain or maybe you're the one who starts the process. Either way, there you are. At first, you only see your reflection as it is, staring back to you, nothing unexpected unless you're not accustomed to having a reflection. The scene begins to shift, though, and instead of your reflection, scenes from your life begin to replay in the water: it could be events that have transpired, events that were happening when you were last home, or events that have not yet come to pass. What's more, whoever is looking into the waters with you will see them, too, like a bad (or good) memory on repeat. The view isn't from your eyes, though, but like one seen from a third party, or in film for those familiar with the medium. It doesn't have to be a long vision, it could even span a mere few seconds, but the person it revolves around, whether its you or the other standing with you, knows it to be something true. |
II. Taste-Testing a New |
The Market District Tavern has been advertising with flyers on every street lamp a new brew to ring in the harvest season. It's a sweet brew, the advert proclaims, sure to induce the spirit of the season in every sip. It does come in non-alcoholic varieties as well, for those concerned with such things, and it promises, mysteriously, to have something in it for everyone. This "Pumpkin-Spiced Ale" really does seem to hit the spot for anyone adventurous enough to give it a try. Maybe you've been a little depressed lately and nothing anyone has tried has been able to cheer you up. One mug of this brew is enough to send you into one of the greatest moods of your life, for a few hours. Regardless of how you're feeling when you order a cup, by the end of it, you're feeling something else. Lacking the confidence to do something or say something to someone? Have a mug of the Tavern's seasonal brew and you'll be ready for that conversation in no time! Disclaimer: It should be noted, the PSB doesn't always have a positive effect on the imbiber, and the lack of inhibitions can sometimes have consequences, but you only live once, right? |
III. Mighty Big Chicken Chasing。 |
The Chocobo ranches are being plagued by a decidedly stubborn pack of wolves and the guard has put out a request for anyone and everyone to aid in their rescue and the resolution of the situation. Some, of course, are more talented at wrangling than wolf extermination, and the ranchers out there are willing to take whatever help they can get. The Wrangler Option Those who've trained in the riding of chocobos will be given one of the more stalwart beasts in order to head out into the fields and corral the rest. You'll be informed whether you know already or not that chocobos are skittish creatures by nature, and the fact that they're already spooked is only going to make getting them to follow commands that much more difficult. As such, it's recommended to work in groups. Now, not everyone needs a chocobo, but they'll need to be able to handle a gate, or carry some treats the chocobos like (try gysahl greens, the reek to high Heaven but the birds can't get enough of them). The Farmhand Option If wrangling isn't your speed, the wolves haven't been kind to the ranches themselves in their near nightly raids on the surrounding farms. Gysahl crops have been trampled and need nurturing, tilling, or worse. Gates and fences have been damaged and need to be repaired and stables have faired no better. The Putting Down Some Beasties Option Ultimately, what needs to happen is the source of the panic and the damages needs to be dealt with, and that's where those who choose this option come in. The wolf pack, as they're described by the resident farmers and ranchers, are actually a group of shadow hunters. They stand roughly six feet at the shoulder, but while they're covered in bone plates, there are some chinks in that armor that can be exploited. |
IV. Tell Phone or Wildcard。 |
You were given a fancy Tell Phone upon arrival, and a solid option is always reaching out to anyone else who might also call this place a home away from home over the network. Alternately, you're welcome to play with any bit of the setting in whatever way you'd like! Feel free to use the Questions thread below if you have any before you get rolling, and remember, we're all here to have fun and be weird! (Being weird is optional, but really, live a little!) |
