state of the game march
The first hints of spring have started to warm the breezes flowing through the city, bright, fresh bids that promise to unfurl into brilliant leaves fill the trees in the park and along the streets. Even the southern forest seems to be shaking off winter's grasp.
The gutters and waterways of the harbor are swollen with winter melt and some may start to notice leaks in some of the less used buildings as things begin to thaw. The weather seems to be a bit unpredictable, with severe thunderstorms popping up suddenly, raging, then passing just as suddenly. All the rain only serves to swell the gutters all the more, making the city and it's surroundings a soggy, muddy mess.
The weather seems to be having a negative impact on the natives, whether they're fellow passengers, customers, or clerks. People are rude, short-tempered, and generally unpleasant to do any sort of business with. It's alright, of course. The feeling's mutual, and the player characters may begin to find themselves feeling more intolerant and short-tempered this month, as well.
To add to everyone's foul mood, there seems to be some unrest in the city districts.
Those who frequent the harbor district may begin to notice a rash of thefts throughout the district, centered around businesses, and there are reports of people being attacked in alleys; people suggest they've seen bands of wererats moving through the alleyways at night, which is strange as they aren't usually so organized. Someone might want to get to the bottom of that. The guard is stretched pretty thin, dealing with the problem in the Noble district.
The noble district is plagued by thefts as well, though these seem to be more targeted and the victim are some of the richest of the natives in Aterat. The guard is on high alert in these areas, but so far no trace of the villains has been found at any crime scene. It's as though they appear and disappear at will, and the guard would appreciate any aid that residents are willing to offer.
As if that weren't enough, the ranchers out on the chocobo ranches are reporting an increase in predator activity out on the plains. The chocobos are spooked and they could really use the help of some enterprising adventurers to kull the prowling Bandersnatch that are making snacks of the chocobos.
Stranger still are the occurrences plaguing day to day interactions.
The weather may be making you more argumentative than normal, but be careful what you say around the middle of the month. From the 12th to the 18th, any sort of phrase aimed at another person, "I wish you would just shut up" for example, could result in that wish coming true! For instance, until the end of the week, that person may be completely unable to speak.
All the events here are completely voluntary, of course, and the city will go back to normal, at least in regards to the wishes, at the end of the week of the 18th.
All of the mischievous capers can be fully NPCed and interpreted however you'd like, but if you have any requests or would like permission for something, feel free to ask in the questions thread below.

So I'm imagining Nida getting deployed to Noble District theft stuff since he's so good at B&E himself. So here are some questions.
1) Is there magic involved in the thefts?
2) Could someone staking out the area catch sight of the thieves?
3) Is it possible to catch the thieves at all?
4) If so is there any information I'd need to know? (if we can NPC it ourselves, I'll have Nida watch with someone else, and we'd handle it ourselves so we don't overwork the mods if that's chill)
I wouldn't want Nida to catch the core of it, if it's a ring, but catching a thief would be right up his alley.

Totally volunteering him to assist people with the wererat situation in the harbor district and/or the chocobo ranch with a bandersnatch if anyone wants a team up there? The latter is only likely if someone mentions it/asks though, since he’s probably not going that way as often. As an addition, because the phantoms have been doing some thieving in the noble district to fund themselves, he will be curious! It wouldn’t do if they were suspected of the work of someone else! Perhaps even a matter of stopping him in the night after some shenanigans on the way back to the hideout :o!
Alternatively, if people want to do something with the ‘be careful what you wish for’ and have him affected by that, I’d also be totally game for it!
Waver Velvet/Lord El-Melloi II
This guy spends most of his time in the harbor district at his workshop when he isn’t at the academy or the historium. I imagine he’s something of a local cryptid in the sense that people have seen him around but don’t know where he’s going/come from all the time aside from the couple people who know the workshop is there. Chances are good that he’d run into a wererat group cutting through alleyways and stuff to get there. So if anyone wants to play hero and have him owe your character one then I definitely encourage it. ... I literally even had a starter written a while back that I never got around to posting involving wererats XD so it’s meant to be.
And of course if anyone wants to do some kind of ‘be careful what you wish for’ situation where either he’s affected or your character is, then I’d be happy to do something with that too.
Llewellyn Watts-Maresh
It would be very fun to do something with the ‘be careful what you wish for’ with him, I think. So if anyone wants to do something with that, I definitely would be happy to talk and figure something out. Either ending up in a situation with that, or helping out someone else who has been affected by it! (like if they need someone to talk for them or something for example). So I could write a starter or throw him at yours depending on what you want/how you want it to go.
Mono nolastname
I was thinking of doing a thread with him practicing his powers/abilities in an alleyway after his messenger job was done for the day, so I may alter the idea a bit to include some mishaps/dealings with wererats as well. I may also just keep it general for if people want something outside the event! So I would be open to discussing ideas!
These are, of course, just my ideas atm. If anyone also wants to request something/has an idea I highly encourage you to throw it at me and we can talk about it either here or over on discord if preferred.

and maybe plot something with Llewellyn and Ignis in the future?

Man...Jagger can be a little snippy even when the weather isn't messing with him, so doing something here might be fun, and I'd be down with either way (giving or receiving).

I’m glad our brains lined up for Ren and Waver. Gotta level up the social link! I’ve really been wanting to do that with them, so Waver can get extra serious about supplying his errand-guy with stuff!
God, I could definitely see something happening with Jagger maybe around the office. We know Llewellyn’s ‘filing system’ strays and ends up mixed in with Jaggers, so maybe that could be a point of annoyance?
The fact that Harry still wears that hat is so damn cute XD… But I’d love for Harry to stumble on him so they can have a chat and stuff!

So Nida is going to get the short stick of his desires and be put to assisting with this Noble District thieving thing. And I'm really looking forward to him catching at least one person. I've even got the start of details here. What he needs is someone to help him out. This could either be intentionally joining him on a stake-out, or just an accidental run in. But be his buddy cop for the night? Other than that, I'd enjoy some Wish stuff for him and am open to that.

The boy has a new big af sword from Bay Blades and wants to make use of it, and he wants to protect those Chocobos. He's going to go Bandersnatch hunting. In fact, he'll probably go multiple times. Anyone want to help him? (he's definitely going once with Angeal, but he's going to keep going and going)

Listen, she's clearly already very busy with this cooking thing. So I have no plans for her. But if you need someone for your wishes to go weird with, she's an option.
Rhy And Tommy
I have no specific plans for these two other than wanting them caught up in wishes gone wrong. Wouldn't that be fun? Come on, have weird wishes with me.
