WELCOME TO ATERAT

Here is our Fifth Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!

I. Crash Into Me

Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.

II. What Goes Bump in the Night

It looks like Aterat proper has a spirit problem. Maybe you're seeing specters, hearing disembodied voices, your windows rattle when there's no breeze outside. Maybe there are cold spots in your place of business (or your apartment, which is so much worse). Either way, you're 100% convinced you're haunted. Hopefully, someone else believes you, or maybe you're used to feeling crazy.

III. A Mean, Green Mother from where now?

There's a pollen problem in the city, and by that we mean it's everywhere. Yellowish green pollen seems to be caked-on everything with the misfortune of being outside, whether it's windows, banisters, carts, you name it. If it's outside for a duration of time, it's a free game to have a layer of dust settled upon it, and it plays havoc on anyone who breathes it in. Allergic to pollen? Your allergies are horrible. Not allergic, well, you might just have the sniffles anyway, and another problem. You seem to be completely unable to tell a lie. Not only that, but you feel the overwhelming need to tell people things you'd usually keep to yourself. Maybe you like to put cream in your coca-cola (you monster) or maybe you've done something terrible and you really need to get it off your chest either in person or over the network.

The Tell-Phone allows for text, video, and audio transmissions to everyone else who has one. Give it a whirl!

Inesa.

[It's a relief. Even though he learned about a strange new world in the Sphere, he's still glad to know that there's someone familiar to be there while he navigates this strange new world. Also, it's just nice to have someone familiar. One fewer person he has to say goodbye to.]

Where are you?

I am at the fountain.

I think it is at the center of the town.

Where are you?

I am...

[He doesn't know how to describe it. He's still learning this place.]

Stay there. I'll find you.

I will stay here.

[Though she does start to look around, seeing if she can spot Jon's familiar figure.]

[He hurries to the fountain as quickly as he can, but when he gets there, he doesn't just walk right up to her. Instead, he gives in to a sudden flair of the dramatic -- a bit uncommon for him perhaps, but after all, it's not so unusual that he might have inherited something from the father whose blood flows in his veins; it's no secret that Rhaegar had preferred his harp to a sword -- and comes up behind her as quietly as he can.]

Is this seat taken?

[Inesa is sitting at the edge of the fountain, her eyes flicking from street to street around the square. It's surprisingly easy to sneak up on her in her overly focused state.]

Jon!

[She turns her mouth forming into a warm happy grin.]

Of course not. I saved it just for you.

[She wants to hug him or hold him; just to make sure that he's really here.]

Lucky me then.

[He takes a seat next to her on the rim of the fountain, not minding at all that their bodies are touching.] I am undeniably glad to find you here.

[Inesa is unable to hold herself back. She reaches towards Jon and wraps her arms firmly around his waist. Her head rests on his shoulder and she inhales the familiar scent of metal and wolf.] I'm so happy that you're here. [She squeezes him tight before releasing him enough to sit up straight and meet his gaze.]

I had run into others from the Sphere but none had seen you.

[She knows that nothing is forever but she's happy to continue having Jon at her side.]

[He wraps his arms around her waist in return.]

I haven't been here long.

[And he's good at avoiding attention. He's had a lot of practice at it, growing up as a bastard in one of the great Houses of the North.]

Who else is here?

Detective Llewellyn Watts and Rhy Maresh. Rhy used to work for me at the fabric shop. [She's a little sad that Sansa, Seregil, and Alec weren't also in the city but she hoped that they were somewhere safe.] I have not heard of anyone else but I will let you know if I find someone else.

[She knows that Jon would be curious about his family.]

Lancelot is with me too. He is back at my apartment.

[He remembers seeing them around. It's good to know that there are some familiar faces here.]

I have someone with me too. [He inclines his head in the distance, where she can see Ghost waiting for him.]

Ghost!

[Inesa shouts as she raises from her seated position to dash over to the white wolf and wrap her arms around his neck. He might not understand her words but he'd easily understand her actions and tone.] It is so good to see you too. [She is sure that Jon is happy as well.

Her head turns and she looks back at Jon with a smile.]

Do you want to go back to where I am staying? Lancelot is there and we can keep talking.

[Ghost, being familiar with Inesa and knowing she's not a threat, stands still and lets her hug him like the good wolf he is.

Jon nods.]

I would like that.

[Inesa nods as she rises to her feet and takes Jon's hand.]

Right! We should go.

[Jon stands too.]

Lead the way then.
