☰ STATE OF THE GAME: May
Happy Spring and all that, Aterat! We do still have some bits of the Mystery of the Maiden's Mercy we're mopping up, but the nature of the world is constantly in flux, and time marches on!
(It should be noted new arrivals are more than welcome to join the investigation until the mystery of the ship is solved)
Activity Check-In is live and will run until May 10th! Note: Even if you're new this month, check-in is still required.

Spring Cleaning is underway, and I'm in the process of switching all the coding of the game over to a new format (if you hadn't noticed) and reorganizing the pages in order to make the information more accessible and easier to navigate for players. If you have any questions or can't find anything in the interim, please let me know! Change always has growing pains, and I'm not the most organized person on the best of days.
☰ PULSE: A BIT OF A SHAKE UP
While most of the citizens of Aterat seem to be trying their model best to accept and adapt to the strangeness going on the Harbor district, there still seems to be a shroud of anxiety draped over the city, as though everyone, newcomers and natives alike, are waiting for some other shoe to drop. Starting on the 30th, it seems like they may be getting their wishes. That evening, and every evening until May 4th, small tremors, like small earthquakes, begin to shake the city.
Those who've been around awhile will most likely recognize the quakes that typically accompany some sort of city expansion, and after that week, their suspicions will be founded! On the morning of May 5th, anyone out and about will notice there are just generally more people around, hundreds of new faces no newcomers recognize, going about their daily lives as though all is normal. Natives seem to know them, and none seem surprised at their sudden arrival.
The Pulse seems to have done more than simply bring a slew of new people to the city, however. Many buildings around the city that were once dilapidated and in various states of disuse and disrepair have been restored; some serve as housing (and appear to have been lived in for years), while others are new businesses, from flower shops to general stores, the city is just much more alive than it had been a week ago. Dotting several districts are small gardens, planted trees line the streets, roads are freshly cobbled! It seems like a miracle and it's a welcome improvement.
Except Tell Phone service seems to be a little off. The devices may be a little restrictive to some of the newcomers, but the service has always at least been reliable albeit completely inexplicable in how it actually works. Starting with the quakes, though, and running the entire month of May, service is a little spotty in places. If you leave the city proper, it may not connect at all. When calls do go through, they may not be to the right person. Texts seem a bit more reliable, but sometimes they fire off to the wrong recipients, too. Weird and a little annoying, but nothing to worry about, right?
☰ SPRING IN SPRINGING
The natives, both new and old alike, seem to be making the most of the situation in the city, and all the areas, including the circus and the park, are rife with activity. Flowers are blooming, the city and it's surrounding environs are filled with the scents of fresh flowers and new life, and people seem to be preparing the circus complex for a festival. When asked, they're all willing and eager to talk about the annual Festival of Flowers, held in the 3rd week of the month, that it's to welcome in the new life around them, and that the circus complex itself uses it as a signal that the arena tournaments will be starting the following month!
There will be a log for the week-long festival itself going up on the 23rd, but the preparations go on all month long.
Those who are interested in Chocobos should take note as well: chocobo breeding season has begun, if all the flyers are to be believed! There will be the opportunity to browse stock at the festival for anyone interested in purchasing their own chick, and special previews are available at the Chocobo Ranch all month long!
As always, all questions can be directed here!
