Leading them down a side street, away from the main traffic and the sometimes overwhelming noise and sense of being watched by adults, Mono nodded at the question. “Yeah, they’re pretty safe from what I can tell?”
The boy quietly tilted his head to glance at both of them. “They kinda reminded me of the tall buildings in the city I was in... When I got here, the building I got was empty aside from me.” Yes, the ten-year-old had the whole run of the grey building for over a month. “But I kinda... broke into the rooms, just to double check and make sure they were safe and there weren’t any bad monsters hiding.”
Mono hadn’t found anything, and while he hadn’t checked the other buildings, he knew people who lived in them... So they all seemed pretty safe!
