It was strange, really… Llewellyn knew he was annoying her, and the part of him that knew her wanted to write it off as a vague annoyance that would be met with the usual ‘grumpy toned’ comment that he came to know her for. The other part of him, the part that kept trying to remind himself that this wasn’t his friend as he’d known her, was worried about how she might react if he kept annoying her with his anxious ramble.

He knew that this couldn’t possibly make sense to her, right? If she had no memories of the Sphere, it would be logical to write it off as either the crazy ramblings of an unhinged stranger, or someone trying to manipulate her. The detective opened his mouth to at least… attempt to try to explain it a little more, to hopefully put enough pieces in front of her that might make it easier to accept…

But then she continued speaking, and Llewellyn just felt sad. She did have friends, she just couldn’t remember them. “I know it seems like that now, but…” How did one explain this? Saying he had been her friend didn’t feel accurate, because he still thought of her as his friend… He rubbed the side of his face lightly, taking a long breath as his nerves finally started to settle again. He’d planned on asking her to be his best person at the wedding! She was his best friend in that world. And now she didn’t even recognize him.

“You had friends in that world. I was one of them- as much as I annoyed you. Always breaking things you’d have to fix.” He shook his head a little. There had still been a laptop there that was little more than a paperweight that he’d never gotten around to mentioning he broke again. “So when I saw you, I never really considered that you might not remember me. Even if it would have been more logical to consider that before I approached… I was just happy to see you again.”
