He smirked. "Glad to help." The kid was cute and while Jacob wasn't used to kids, he had a tendency to treat everyone the same so he wasn't unfamiliar with these sorts of conversations.

"I need to get to the carpentry shop. If you ever need help finding that cat of yours, that's where I'll be." He was going to tussle the kid's bag as a sign of affection but he remembered how he had reacted before and decided against it. Instead, he lifted his hand in an innocent goodbye.
