This weather isn't so different from what he's used to in Toronto, and there's not enough in his room yet to keep him occupied, so Murdoch decides to venture out into the city, which brings him to the park. He enjoys the sound of children playing. It's reminiscent of his childhood among the Jesuits, and he still hopes that one day he'll have a child of his own. So a group of children playing an improvised game of hockey catches his attention enough to get him to stop and watch for a bit. He's not particularly interested in sports, but he had been convinced to take part in a game of hockey once.
One of the kids hits the makeshift puck extra hard and it goes skidding across the ice to stop at Murdoch's feet. He bends down to pick it up, but instead finds a tattered ball buried in the snow and holds that out instead. "Try that. It should work better."
Tell phone
Murdoch being Murdoch, he's not actually using the phone. He has taken it apart and has parts of it strewn over the table in front of him. Hopefully he remembers how to put it back together again.
